Vegan Fashion Week: Los Angeles 2019

In October 2019 we were in Los Angeles and attended Vegan Fashion Week at the California Market Center, which is a premier fashion building in Downtown LA.

VFW ran over two days and last year’s theme was Fashion is Activism,” and it explored the challenges surrounding ecological and climate change through the lenses of fashion, ethics and technology. There were a number of panels throughout the event, each with their own take on how we can all do our bit and make a difference in the world.

It was brilliant to see and speak to all the amazing brands that were there and exhibiting. Not only that, the brands all had their products made in LA by highly ethical and socially responsible manufacturers, they also ethically sourced their materials from the USA and around the world. There was also an amazing company called ‘Miyoko's Creamery’ which had the best vegan cheese we have tasted. We can’t wait until it comes to the UK.

The event wasn’t just about being vegan, it was about how we can make ethical choices that don’t exploit people, the planet and animals. This is what is at the heart of Careaux and it was brilliant to be at an event that completely aligns with our mission and values, in a place where sustainability and ethics were at the forefront.
