Science and Industry Museum: Recycled Runway Dress

During April 2019, the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester held a number of events and workshops which fused science and fashion.

One of the workshops was called ‘Recycled Runway’. The workshop was split into two rooms; in one room the children made outfits from a host of different materials and the other room was where the outfits were showcased on the runway.

In the runway room there were different pieces of clothing that were environmentally friendly.

For the recycled runway we created a Careaux dress made from organic cotton in a print that was made by local school children in which they drew what STEM meant to them.

The whole two weeks of events was brilliant, interesting and it was amazing to see all the different ways fashion and science work together.
