Sustainability, Ethics and Transparency

- We are proud members of the Future Fashion Factory Initiative, a multi-million pounds project bringing together industry leaders and members to reduce waste and adopt circular economies in the design and production of luxury fashion.

- Fabric: Our ‘Create Choice, Create Change’ debut collection is made from dead-stock fabric that has been saved from landfill and produced by a supplier who is fully committed to sustainability and shares our values.

- For pieces commissioned outside of our collection, we only use fabrics from suppliers we know are ethically made, dead-stock fabrics, only use organic materials where applicable e.g. cotton, we never use products that are animal derived in particular we do not work with leather, fur, wool or silk.

-All fabric is cut to minimise waste as much as possible, we recycle or up-cycle all our offcuts.

- Made in Britain: Every piece we have made has been produced locally in the UK in Manchester, according to The University of Nottingham ‘manufacturing clothes in the UK produced 47 percent less emissions when compared to similar operations in overseas textile factories’.

- Designed to Last: From the highest quality fabric that has been carefully hand picked by myself and Laura to timeless classic designs that are designed to last a lifetime and to become your forever favourite. Your Careaux pieces are designed with sustainability at the core, to be re-worn, recycled and to extend its active lifetime through our Careaux concept. The qualities and design will mean this is a dress for your life.

- The Careaux Concept itself is designed with circular fashion at the heart, as the number of tops x number of skirts = number of dresses, dramatically decreasing the number of pieces in your wardrobe. So far, we have saved over 250 dresses from being made.

- Made to Order: As part of our commitment to slow fashion, from the very beginning, your Careaux piece is made to order to avoid over production. We also offer a lifetime repair service to extend the active lifetime of your Careaux piece.

- Our Suppliers: Laura and I have spent the last few years researching and sourcing the finest quality of fabric and materials from socially responsible and ethical suppliers. Suppliers who share our values and vision to treat everyone and the planet with kindness, from sustainable practices and goals, fair wages and treatment of employees.

- All of our packaging is made from recycled materials right here in the UK from the swing tags to the box and is fully recyclable, our limited edition packaging boxes are designed to be used for life as a memory box to pass down through generations.
